Robert S. Karelitz, DDS
I have been practicing for over thirty years. What I love about my profession is the trust my patients place in me to participate in the most important thing in their lives, their health. It is rewarding to be able to relieve pain from a toothache, make a front tooth look better so a patient can smile with confidence, or replace missing teeth for a patient so he or she can eat properly again. However, my main focus lies in listening and planning so that treatment of ailments can be prevented when possible. Any health professional's primary goal should be to prevent disease, not allow it to happen, then treat it.
Many of my patients have been with me for years. I have treated them, their parents, and now their children. They have become friends; it is my responsibility to work within their constraints of time, health, money and priorities at the time, in order to design a treatment plan that will improve their health.
Education and Continuing Education
- Bachelor of Science- University of Massachusetts Amherst
- Graduate Study in Zoology- University of Massachusetts Amherst
- Doctor of Dental Surgery- New York University
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist 2008- National Strength and Conditioning Association
Each year, the body of dental/medical knowledge increases. By reading research journals and continuing my education in other specialties such as orthodontics, periodontics, physical therapy and nutrition, as well as general dentistry, I can better communicate with other health professionals in our area when our patients need them.
The more I learn, the more I can offer my patients treatments that work, while eliminating the high cost of treatments and technologies that don't live up to their advertising.
- American Dental Association
- New Hampshire Dental Society
- Southeastern New Hampshire Dental Society
- Seacoast Esthetic Dentistry Association
- National Strength and Conditioning Association
My team and I share a commitment to our patients’ well-being. Many of our staff have been with us for twenty years or more. Doctors King, Carroll and I frequently consult each other regarding a patient’s treatment; this exchange of ideas allows our patients to benefit from our combined experience, as well as an increasing range of treatments.
Outside the Office
I have lived in the New Hampshire Seacoast area since 1979. I like to live and play in the community I work in, so you'll see me at any number of breakfast/lunch spots, in ice rinks, on motorcycles, running or biking, and hanging out at local bookstores, music shops, and music venues.
